Translating The Wedding- Quebec Style

Quebec, Portuguese, and Ontario meet for a wedding, it needs good translation. I know you thought I was going to start one of the jokes about three men walking into a bar. Well I guess in a way it was just in the form of a huge wedding. My Son got married to a wonderful Portuguese girl here in Toronto. My family from Quebec came to the wedding which is very unusual so it was a real mixed bag of cultures and in Quebec people don’t get married so the wedding itself was an education.

Many of our family from Quebec had not been to a wedding since the 70s. There idea of a wedding in 2025 is very different to their experience of weddings in the past. First of all my Son got married at Steam Whistle a giant venue in the middle of Toronto. There were over 120 people in attendance, a drum band, open bar, and wild DJ. The wedding started outdoors and carried on until the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say they were wowed by a wedding in 2025.

The Quebec Family had a lot of fun and it will live on in their minds for a long time. Maybe we will restart the wedding tradition in Quebec of course they have many reasons to party already. Congratulations to Steve and Diana on starting your new life together.
