When looking for a translator, be specific!

A Translator can be two different types of people or businesses. When choosing a translator for your business it is important that you understand what you want, the type of translation you want, and who the company or person is that offers that type of work. Not all translation is the same.

Recently I was on a vacation in Quebec City when a women was having trouble reading some signs for money exchange. I asked if she needed some help. As we are reading the signs I am explaining what they are saying. I realized the language she was speaking and asked her, she said it was French from Paris, but she couldn’t read the French sign in Quebec. As we helped her to where she needed to go, I realized even though the languages are the same, French is French, the dialect of the individual places is what throws things off. The words used on the sign may not be words they would use in the same signage in France.

This is why it is important that you have a translator that speaks and writes for the area you are translating for or your end user may not be able to read the information.
